AJ I know Dante’s story better than anyone. After all, I was the one who rescued him from his homophobic, abusive father eight years ago. Since then, I’ve kept my distance, but when I run into him at the Marian House gala and he doesn’t recognize me, I can’t resist the incredible, sensitive man he’s become.

I would do anything to protect Dante Marian, but what if his past keeps me from being part of his future?

Dante Every new relationship has obstacles, it just turns out that ours involves my bumbling inexperience (ugh), an octogenarian naughty toy party (don’t ask), and being on the run in an RV with Aunt Tilly (it involves the Secret Service— no really, don’t ask).

When my biological father takes his homophobic views to a national platform, the only way to stand up for what I believe in is to claim my past and confront him. So now it’s time to decide do I put the past behind me and walk away from AJ for good or face my biggest fear and fight for what’s mine?

Fair warning Dante and AJ’s story contains frequent detailed scenes of man parts touching, little old ladies being inappropriate (this time with, ah, props), and two hearts finding their HEA when they least expect it.

While it can also be read on its own, Delivering Dante is the sixth in the Made Marian series. Each book tells the story of one of the Marian brothers' search for true love.

Trigger Warning Delivering Dante includes references to domestic violence and conversion therapy.

Delivering Dante Made Marian Series Book 6 edition by Lucy Lennox Literature Fiction eBooks

Lucy Lennox has this amazing way of delivering a story that has heart and depth, real emotions and obstacles to overcome, overflow your heart with love and make you feel all the feels characters, and real laugh out loud my face hurts from smiling so much humour all without being too down in the doldrums angsty or being too the sugar hurts my teeth sweet. This series, and Delivering Dante, is perfect for those who want some angst but not to be dragged down. Who want to smile and laugh but be tempered with the down to earth real life issues. Who enjoy a bit of silly all in good fun without it being too over the top beyond belief crazy. Who want to fall madly, deeply, ridiculously in love with the sweetest, kindest, most adorable guys you can possibly think of. Who want to be so engrossed in a story that you can't put it down because you must read it all. Who are prepared to be so overcome with love, smiles and feels you just don't know what to do with yourself when you reach "the end" and find you're just staring blankly for a little while wondering what to do with yourself now until you eventually realize all you can do is just start re-reading from Borrowing Blue on until Delivering Dante's audio book is out.

I finished reading this yesterday and I'm still in a happy love stupor trying to pull myself together. As the blurb mentions Delivering Dante can technically be read as a standalone but you're going to miss out on so much if you don't read the rest first. For those of you who have prepare for all kinds of squees and swooning a bit after the halfway mark!

Did I fall in love? Head over heals

Would I re-read? Absolutely! over and over and then when the audio comes out I'll be listening over and over.

Were there moments- sad, funny, sweet, fantasy fueling- that I replay? I managed to stop daydreaming long enough to write this but just barely :)

Was it worth the money? I've received each book as an arc, and I've bought each book anyway. This book is no exception.

Delivering Dante Made Marian Series Book 6 edition by Lucy Lennox Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I have loved this entire series. Of couse they were hot!!! At times the stories were definitely heart breaking but also full of hope....really made me think about what it would be like to not even be able to grab my husband's hand in public if I were not a straight woman. How sad would it be to have to first stop and think about who might see and how bad the abuse might be if the wrong person were to witness our public affection.
This was provably my absolute favorite book in this series. I loved seeing Dante flourish and grow into himself as a Marian. I loved that AJ and he were able to reunite after so long, and learn to love each other as adults and not simply as memories. I loved that being a Marian, and loving AJ, helped to give Dante the strength to face his past.

This book was probably the most emotionally compelling of all the series, at least for me, and it was well worth the read.
Delivering Dante is just another example of the talent and romantic vision that Lucy Lennox possesses.
All of the characters in the book are well fleshed out. The secondary characters are well placed and give the work additional depth. The bad guys are suitably bad, and the good guys are good enough to be moral and bad enough to be interesting.
The author weaves the past and present together in such a way as to make you feel that you were there experiencing it first hand.
Built into complete and complex characters, Dante and AJ have strength, albeit hidden in some cases, and a will to overcome whatever is thrown their way. Their outlook is hopeful, due, in large part, to their current families' acceptance and support. The loving family dynamics are beautiful and the playfulness a nice break from otherwise heavy subject matter. I laughed, I cried. I loved it.
So Dante finally found his Angel.
Being saved from a homophobic and abusive family is a blessing, but even the love of Dances new family (the wonderful Marians) can't erase the bad memories and nightmares. He ows his new life and family to the Angel that saved him who's always with him in his mind.
AJ has deliberately avoided the youth centre where Dante works since he don't know if he's more afraid of Dante recognise him or not. Saving and extracting kids and youth in need is something his done for a long time, but he never forgot Dante.

When Dante and AJ finally meets, sparks fly and Aunt Tilly drags them on a run away trip to Vegas they can't resist each other and we get to follow along the ride,

It was so good to see this crazy family again. It's sweet and funny as well as serious and deals with subjects as homophobia, conversion the and family violence
My Review
Overall 4.75
Performance 4.5
Story 4.75

Wow, this was a really powerful story. I think I fall more and more in love with this series with each new book. Problem though...is Dante the last Marion?? I hope not. I'm not ready to let go of this series yet!!

But this book is about the youngest Marion...Dante who used to be Daniel. Like all the Marion's, his backstory is pretty harsh. His preacher father was abusive and brutal. He tried conversion therapy on Dante and when that didn't work, he reverted to good, old-fashioned beatings. But Dante was saved by another kid named Angel.

He doesn't realize it at the time, but Dante's Angel is actually AJ...and that's where the conflict in the story comes into play.

I liked this book. Dante has some real fears and phobias that come from his time under his father's thumb. How he overcomes these in this story creates a great character arc for him. I loved getting to watch him find his inner strength to stand up for what was right.

As always the writing was really interesting and the narration for the audiobook was spot on. I have one problem with these audiobooks...I can't walk away from them, so I always manage to finish them in record time...which isn't good for my productivity in other areas. LOL.

I definitely recommend this one and ALL the Marion books, although each of them works as a standalone. The entire series is fabulous. I've listened to all of them on audio...also highly recommended!
