Prepare your finances - for better and for worse.
This unique book explores an overlooked but pivotal truth divorce is a financial planning issue. All too often, people willingly enter into marriage without even discussing our investments, obligations, income, budget, or the impact a divorce might have on our financial futures. Why would we taint our special day by talking about money when there are caterers to hire and dicey family dynamics to manage?
Both men and women think marriage is supposed to be about trust, love, and romance. And it is. But we are ignoring and important reality. The current divorce rate is about 50 percent. In I Now Pronounce You Financially Fit, Pam Friedman talks about this financial elephant in the room. In marriage, as Friedman explains, it is never too late to protect our money from the financial devastation of divorce. And if divorce is unavoidable, her advice can help us through that too.
Pam Friedman uses her 20-plus years of experience in financial planning and investing to advise us about how to address our finances as couples. By being sensible, informed, and realistic, we can prevent many of the financial problems that cause divorce - or that divorce can cause.
Download this book and let Pam Friedman help you discover your happily ever after.
I Now Pronounce You Financially Fit How to Protect Your Money in Marriage and Divorce (Audible Audio Edition) Pam Friedman Gail L Chaffee Divorce Planning of Austin LLC Books
This book is a must-read if you are getting married, especially if you are looking at a second marriage, or a marriage "later" in life, where you or your spouse may have assets. It's also a great read if you have already tied the knot. It's short, well written, and a very easy read, and it's packed with useful information. It's hard to consider divorce when you are getting married, but even if you never have "the talk" with your loved one, this book will help you understand what is at risk, and how you can protect it. It also gives just general good financial advice...not in detail, because that's not the purpose of the book, but enough to make you really think about how you handle your money. It will make you want to approach and handle your finances better than you have in the past. And if you even do have to get divorced, you will be so thankful for the work you do after reading this book!Product details

I Now Pronounce You Financially Fit How to Protect Your Money in Marriage and Divorce (Audible Audio Edition) Pam Friedman Gail L Chaffee Divorce Planning of Austin LLC Books Reviews
This book should be required reading for couples before they walk down the aisle. Being prepared for every outcome is simply smart financial planning and Friedman's book can be used as a guide to organizing your finances, regardless of your relationship state. The chapters are well organized and the writing is friendly and approachable. Those who are hesitant (maybe even downright afraid) to talk about money have all the more reason to read this.
This is a great book for anyone during any stage of marriage or divorce - from before engagement, during marriage, and after a divorce. Financial discussions are difficult for many, and this book provides some guidance on how, when and why to have those discussions. The examples are excellent - real and relate-able, and definitely made me look at financial decisions my husband and I make a little bit differently. Financial topics can often be dry, but Pam presents the concepts in an easily accessible manner and with just enough humor.

Pam Friedman provides information that is important to anyone about to be married or divorced. The information is presented in a way that is easy to read and comprehend, but thorough. The case situations make the more complex topics interesting. She avoids using financial lingo or acronyms.
Pam Friedman offers comprehensive advice along with examples and scenarios that help with potential losses and gains. I feel more prepared and financially educated after reading her book.
